Target Group: Yanbou3 El Nour Orphans

Project Title: Yanbou3 El Nour


Goals:

  • Children becoming familiar with basic English Words (as provided by their school curriculum)
  • Children are able to read, write, pronounce and understand these words correctly
  • Children becoming able to write simple sentences (as provided by their school curriculum)

Obstacles:

  • Children being disobedient
  • Children trying to cheat from each other
  • Children paying attention to what we are teaching them
  • Trying to teach the orphans the same material, although there are wide ranges in their capabilities
  • Attention and participation of the children

Tasks:

  • Arrive at the orphanage at around 2:00 pm
  • Have a fun introduction for the kids, to gain their attention
  • Begin working through the book that they give us
  • Make sure every student writes down every word and knows how to spell and pronounce it
  • Give students rewards and incentives, such as candy.
  • Spend about 10-15 minutes at the end of every class to have fun with the kids.
